Ski and sail Ski and sail offer sailing experiences in our local oceans around Vestfjorden, Lofoten, Vesterålen, Hamarøy, Tysfjord, Steigen, Senja, Troms and Lyngen. In Northern Norway during summer or winter you can combine an exotic sailing trip with orca safaris, mountain climbing, fishing at sea and in rivers, golf, paragliding, deepsea rafting, or you could enjoy the fantastic Northern Norwegian nature while relaxing aboard one of our modern sailboats. The mountains in Northern Norway have been there for 4000 years, and some for as long as 2,7 billion years; wild, beautiful majestic mountains that rise straight out of the sea. The idea behind the ski and sail concept was conceived after having sailed past all of the majestic peaks one summer, starting dreams of all the slopes filled with snow in winter, and disappointment that the best locations are not accessible by road. Since helicopter access is not allowed in Norway, what could be better than to sail to these wonders?

Hugo Berg is the skipper and owner of the boat. He is a keen climber who likes to combine his passion for climbing with sailing, in order to reach otherwise innaccessible peaks. He has a marine deck officer class 5 certificate and has completed courses in avalanche safety and first aid.
Ketil Singstad is responsible for marketing and is fantastically familiar with the area and opportunities that lie in wait outside our living rooms. He is one of the permanent crew. He is our jack-of-all trades who we use as navigator, galley slave, falconer, cook, inspirator etc. He has a marine deck officer class 5 certificate, and has completed courses avalanche safety and first aid.
